E.D.R Electronic Data Recorder

 

The EDR project was developed through subcontract with the Prototype Integration Facility (PIF) for the PATRIOT Project Office (LTPO). This quick-turn, form/fit replacement was implemented to replace a high-maintenance/high-failure rate tape drive used to log PATRIOT data with a low-maintenance/high reliability flash memory drives, without modification of the EDR enclosure or additional cabling.

The Offload Kit developed at the same time contains spare flash media, as well as all equipment required to read the flash media with a military-grad laptop computer. The final result was a reliable, functioning unit that pleased the customer, shortened the delivery schedule and lowered production costs.
